Beginner Yoga Class in Huntersville, NC

We have several classes that are appropriate for students new to yoga as well as those looking to fine tune an existing practice or even supplement a more vigorous practice/ exercise routine.

Slow Flow

This approach to Vinyasa (linking breath to movement) in our non-heated room, helps us learn to breath, to reveal body awareness, inner strength, and improve flexibility. Those new to yoga can learn the basics at a pace that may be more appropriate.

Deep Stretch

Deep Stretch is a slower paced class meant to restore the body and mind while increasing flexibility. We offer deep stretch in both the hot and non-hot rooms. The poses are mostly floor poses that are held for extended periods of time. The longer held postures allow tight muscles to gently release and tension in the mind and body to slowly melt away. **Evening deep stretch classes are done by candlelight to encourage a deeper sense of relaxation.

Hatha

Hatha yoga is described as a merging together of sun and moon, left and right, or the masculine and feminine principles of the body.  It affects the mind as well as the body, My emphasis in the class depends on presence of mind during practice, making this practice much more than purely physical. We come to create balance and peace in your life by stretching muscles that you never knew you had.  As we begin to strengthen and open the body through these postures  we find concentration, to locate the stillness, perseverance, patience, and self-acceptance.  All together this will benefit our mind and overall health. Each student adds their own personality and internal wisdom to their classes, but in each Hatha yoga class you will find a connection with movement and breath, strength and relaxation, as well as meditation and release.  

Beginner's Series

Several times a year we will offer a 4-6 week beginner’s series. Please check “Special Events” page to see if it is currently being offered.
