Our non-hot space is smaller and allows for more individualized instruction. It is perfect for both new students and seasoned yogi’s- anyone looking to refine their practice. The room is kept between 70-78*. We offer a wide variety of classes in this room including “specialty classes” and workshops.
VINYASA/SLOW FLOW
Vinyasa classes maintain awareness and focus on breath while moving through a series of postures. Each class is different but all follow a progression through breathing exercises, warm up, variations of Sun Salutations, a dynamic standing series, various hip openers and stretches, and a final relaxation. Classes will often include arm balances and inversions. This style of yoga builds heat, flexibility, and strength while maintaining focus on good alignment. Slow Flow moves through Vinyasa at a slower pace and allows plenty of time for extended deep stretching
HATHA
Hatha yoga is described as a merging together of sun and moon, left and right, or the masculine and feminine principles of the body. It affects the mind as well as the body, The emphasis in class depends on presence of mind during practice, making this practice much more than purely physical. We come to create balance and peace in your life by stretching muscles that you never knew you had. As we begin to strengthen and open the body through these postures we find concentration, to locate the stillness, perseverance, patience, and self-acceptance. All together this will benefit our mind and overall health. Each student adds their own personality and internal wisdom to their classes, but in each Hatha yoga class you will find a connection with movement and breath, strength and relaxation, as well as meditation and release. Perfect for beginners and amazing for intermediate to advanced students looking to deepen their practice and knowledge.
KUNDALINI
Another form of Tantra Yoga, this practice incorporates movement, dynamic breathing technique, meditation, mudra and chanting mantra. The actual translation is “that what is coiled”, it is a practice to encourage movement up into and through the Chakras. A practice to build physical vitality and increase consciousness. This practice is different than our traditional Hatha Yoga classes, finding time to pause and take mini savanna throughout. All are welcome, no experience necessary. Always encouraged to move at your pace.
CHAKRA MEDITATION
In this 30 minute meditation, we will primarily focus on the Chakra system, (7 major energy centers with in the body). This ancient knowledge is simply another way to understand ourselves and others with more kindness and compassion. Exploring the Chakra system may assist us in the blocks that prevent us from experiencing our highest potential. This will be a guided class with some breath word involved. The meaning of Chakra is spinning wheel. This practice is offered as just another “tool” for your belt, to better equip us as we move through our life. All welcome, no experience is necessary, comfort is key.
