Welcome to Melting Point! We are so happy you have decided to begin your journey with us. We offer a wide variety of classes with the best teachers in the Lake Norman area. We are including some guidelines to help you feel comfortable in your new yoga home!
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of class
We discourage entering a class late but recognize that sometimes life gets crazy... as long as there is room in the studio we will allow you to enter a few minutes late, but please don't make this a habit!
Eat something light before class and come well hydrated
If you forget water or a light snack, you can purchase both in the studio.
No cell phones are allowed in the Yoga Room
Make a habit of turning your phone off as soon as you arrive at the studio. It is a great time to unplug!
Please take off your shoes before entering the studio- yoga is done barefoot
Pedicured feet preferred:)!
Wear comfortable clothing, bring a mat and towel
We rent and sell mats and towels in the studio if you do not have your own. If you are going into the hot studio be prepared to sweat~dress accordingly!
If the heat gets to be too much, try to stay in the room, come to child's pose or lie flat on your back.
It is better to allow your body a chance to adjust~if you leave the studio you are just shocking your body and it becomes more difficult to return to class. That said, we do NOT lock you in the studio and if you must leave then do so. The teacher will follow you out to make sure you are ok and then return to the class.
The majority of our classes are "all-levels!"
If the class seems too advanced, it is fine to take a more basic variation of the pose being offered. If the class seems very basic, please respect the level of everyone in the class and vary your posture accordingly. The teacher should offer more advanced poses when appropriate!
Do not skip Savasana!!
Your final relaxation is a very important part of the practice and you should not plan on leaving early. If you absolutely must, please let the teacher know, set your mat up by the door, take a shortened savasana and then exit quietly. Please do not let this become a habit!
